Wealth Attraction Steps – Public Speaking

In a previous post, titled Work Smarter, Not Harder to Build Your Online Identity, we outlined five steps you should take to be seen as an expert in your industry; online reputation management strategies that will help you to stand out from your competition. These included the use of social media, writing a book, blogging, online interaction such as webinars and teleseminars, and public speaking.

As I mentioned in that post, relying solely on the Law of Attraction and a benevolent Universe to build your reputation, grow your business, and for wealth attraction is a losing proposition. You need to help. One of the best ways to enhance your reputation as an expert in your niche is through public speaking and keynote speaking.

Build Your Reputation with Public Speaking

The strongest, most enduring reputations are built from inter-personal relationships. Putting yourself out there in front of a variety of audiences, large and small, can only enhance the impression that you are The One – The Expert your target audience needs to work with if they hope to overcome the challenges they face – and that you address!

It should go without saying that building your reputation online will also attract wealth – should – but there are times when the obvious must be stated for it to become ingrained.

You must never forget that the Law of Attraction works best for those who work hard, employ a strategic approach to building their reputation, and who place themselves in beneficial situations. Speaking to groups of people is merely one more tool you possess that will enable the Universe to bring you all that you hope to achieve.

In my experience, far too many entrepreneurs believe that public speaking offers them little value, since it’s not “how they make their money”. Besides that, speaking in front of groups is stressful and scary. They assume that, because speaking is not their main form of income – and because it causes them anxiety – there is no reason for them to do it.

On the contrary; if you can swallow your nerves enough to speak in public, and forget about “getting paid” for a minute, you will go a long way in establishing your expert status and building your profile.

Still not convinced? Consider these points:

  • Greater Exposure – to a broader audience is always a positive, and speaking to groups will provide this. With a captive audience before you, all of whom have expressed an interest in what you have to say simply by showing up, your time is being used effectively and to the benefit of everyone there – including you and your reputation.
  • Enhanced Profile – almost by default you’ll be elevated to “Expert Status” simply by being invited to speak. It will be almost universally assumed by your audience that anyone (YOU) who is invited to speak to them, especially at a well-attended and well-respected event or function, is going to know what they are talking about. Literally, before you say a word, your reputation will precede you and, if you present a well-designed and informative talk, your reputation will only be enhanced.

As you speak before a group, you are concurrently doing a number of things, including: building your expert profile by providing useful information on your topic of expertise to an audience who has already shown an interest simply by attending, your talk, and you are also effectively selling your products and/or services, attracting clients and generating income for your business.
